Star Trails I

Star trails - First Attempt.

First attempt at creating a star trail. I'm quite happy with the result, though I still see a number of flaws that I need to work on to achieve nicer images. You may see a small gap in the trail, this is because a plane flew past and ruined one of the exposures.
Still need to work on my composition - it's quite hard to compose at night. Overall, I'm quite happy

Cropped with a cinematic feel (16:9), this photograph looks at QLD floodings from a different POV other than the pure wreckage of homes and families. It shows how many people of our community stockpiled on the vitals - water and food -, which is evident through the scarcity of products in supermarkets.

My prayers and thoughts to those who have lost loved ones and lost their home.

A new year. ^^

It looks like I was not able to commit to my 365 day project. TT

and I don't think I would have a high chance in completing another 365 photo project for 2011 due to studies this year (year 12) D;

So, I decided that I would do 1 photo a week project - 52 week photo project. Starting by tomorrow.

I will be posting my weekly photo for my project on the weekend, most likely on Saturday.

With this going on that doesn't mean I can't post photos that are not related to the project.

I'll still upload more photos whenever, it just that ill update my blog at least once a week. ^^.

Anyways - new header.

Also, added a new facebook like button for each blog post (Y).

Yay for christmas. Yay for boxing day shopping.

I finally have my second lens ^^, a 35mm AF-S 1.8f prime lens.

Chyeah. Now i have 18-55 & 35.

Of course I ordered it online - the retail prices here in Brisbane is atrocious. 190 w/o shipping (with - 240). Teds Camera store sells it for 350 ==' (and harvey normal - 400).

Here is prob one my fav shots from the acrobats show.

Here's a cityscape shot of The Bund. I have a panoramic which I won't share yet.

The Bund of Shanghai, one of the most popular tourist destinations in China today.
Gah - there was so many people. This was actually one of the first times I did long exposure photography using a tripod... believe it or not.

and here are couple more shots. I was lucky to get a nice spectrum of colours on the shot below - as a passenger ship passed through with its lights changing colours.

The world expo area is soooo big o-o . It's like a minicity or a like a town.

Checked out the countries pavilion. Some countries had massive lines D: just to get into a pavilion.

Went to Australia first.

We had to transfer flights in Beijing in order to go tooo Shanghaaaii.

The terminals there are like... woahhh sooooo niceeeeeeeee.

As you can see on my new header the design features of the terminal we transferred at are like... D:

The lights on the roof also provided very nice bokeh for shallow dof shots.

In Shanghai we stayed at Yun's Paradise Hotel. Here's an image of the room.

I started taking some shots using the red chairs and lamp as the main props.

I am finally back from a very nice holiday in asiaaaa~

Took lots of picturesss la. The countries my family and I visited were China (Beijing & Shanghai) and Philippiness (Manila). We went to Manila first, then to Shanghai, Beijing then back to Manila.

Didn't take many pictures in Manila though D;

The weather in Philippines is intense, so hot and humid.

63/365 - Experiment; Infrared + Keey on votinggggggg

Sooooo yeah, did some experimenting with the use of glasses 8D

I took the shot below by focusing the camera through my glasses, therefore the parts that weren't inside of the glasses made a unique bokeh to the side D8. But like all glasses put in front of a camera, the IQ deteriorates.

Converted to BW Infrared. Yay for experimenting.
